Roaster Tasting Notes:
Why two Tanzanians? Because they are completely different. While both come from the Mbeya area and both saw quality improvements though Jim's visit, this Peaberry selection is a more rounded cup than the bright AA. The Peaberrys grow when one dominant bean essentially take all the nutrients from the other. The result is one bean per cherry as opposed to two. These are M39 beans, developed for Kenya in the mid 19th century. We asked our hosts why Tanzania has so many Peaberry's...no one seemed to know. Oh well. We love the coffee and that is what matters.
