We buy coffee directly from self-organized Fair Trade cooperatives of small family farms in fifteen countries. We let fair Trade pricing be the absolute minimum, and we let the fair Trade tenets of social and ecological responsibility be our guides. We go beyond both of these as the individual relationships allow, visiting, communicating with and buying directly from our trading partners in ways that preserve and promote dignity, respect and prosperity. The direct relationships we foster help guarantee that, regardless of the market state, we will have access to a consistent supply of the highest quality Fair Trade and organically grown coffee. More importantly, they ensure that fair Trade's original tenets of mutual benefit and empowerment remain more than empty slogans, and that every trade we make truly is direct and fair.
