Sumatran coffee captures the wild jungle essence of tropical Indonesia. A good Sumatra is earthy, deep, and complex. It is full-bodied and smooth with very low acidity, and spiced with a touch of forest floor funk. This season's offering is an "old school" Ateng varietal that is becoming more and more rare these days(see our importer's notes below) The body and earthy depth of a typical Sumatra is present, but is accompanied by a lovely sweetness and surprising juiciness. Our Royal Badak Sumatra coffee is hand sorted and triple-picked to ensure each bean reaches the full potential of its strangely delicious characteristics.
