Product Description
Roaster Tasting Notes:
Rich, sweet, dark chocolate, creamy, smooth, hints of lemon, walnut finish.
Following the tradition of four generations of coffee-growers, Cafe Organico Mesa De Los Santos is grown 100% ecologically, as it was 100 years ago, protecting nature, with no chemicals, using natural fertilizers and spring water, and under a protective shade canopy at high altitude. Shade is vital in protecting the coffee plants from excessive sunlight, in providing biodiversity, providing a habitat for birds and mammals, and providing leaflitter and mulch for ground cover. Over 100 years ago Telmo J. Diaz founded the Mesa de los Santos estate in Santender Colombia. His legacy continues today through his grandson, Oswaldo, who adheres to his life-long principles: generosity, integrity, and the search for perfection. The cultivar of this fine washed coffee is Caturra and the coffee is grown at an altitude of 1600-1700m. Café Mesa de Los Santos is a model farm both environmentally and socially with a fair compensation program that pays wages well above the Colombian minimum salary to the 310 hardworking campesinos producing this coffee.
