At Mocha Joe’s we believe in offering products that are safe for the environment and for our bodies. Which is why we only purchase coffees that are decaffeinated through non-chemical processes. The water process that we use for our Colombain and Costa Rican decafs extracts caffeine by submerging the beans in a water bath. Both the flavor compounds and the caffeine are leeched out of the bean, then the caffeine is extracted from the water, and the beans are re-submerged in the water bath to absorb the flavor compounds that are left.
For those who want a good everyday cup of coffee without the caffeine, we offer our Colombian Royal Select Water Process Decaf. This is a high elevation Colombian from the same regions as our caffeinated Colombian offering. Simply put, this decaf just tastes more like "real" coffee, and avoids the chemicals used in other decaf processes.
