Rwanda coffee is not well known throughout the world the massive genocide in the 90‘s grabbed most of the headlines. Many of the coffee farmers were caught in this tragedy and their prior colonial rulers encourage the production of cheap, low grade coffee beans. The country is overcoming the horrors of the past and investing in the farming of a better coffee bean. Known to have a taste similar to the Kenya coffee bean, what might even feel better is buying a fair trade coffee bean as part of their rebuilding efforts.
